Skiing In PA…A Large Market?

Being based out of the state of PA, Jerco has heard time-and-time again people talking about skiing and the PA skiing season. We also start hearing the commercials on the radio around this time.

Looking for another niche project to work on, Jerco realized that there is a very large market on PA skiing, as of course skiing in general, so Jerco has found an excellent domain to start building a site on. The domain already has some miniscule targeted traffic, strong keywords and a seasoned registration history dating back to 2003…which is actually worth more than your avergae person realizes in the eyes of the search gods.

Jerco had k9tutor.com for quite a few years. At one time Jerco had a boatload of dog domains, but Jerco seems to have lost interest in this market since the loss of upsidedowndogs.com. Jerco is thinking about clearing out all the rest of the dog related names in the next few weeks.

We all have those domains for websites that we sold in the past, that we wish we would have kept…

Jerco has many. The one that has been stinging lately is dogs.net. This was sold a few years ago along with cats.net.

Jerco was just doing a Google search for dogs, and dogs.net is in the top 10. That is some sweet traffic, and surely some sweet income. A generic domain with a top listing at the top search engine in the world = $$$.

Domain name regret number 1 for sure.

Jerco remembers the days of when it was a good deal to register a domain name for $15…

Today there are not many registrars that charge more than that. However there still are some, and for whatever reason people continue to use them.

Jerco uses Godaddy.com for a lot of renewals and new registrations. The main reason is because of the plethora of sales and deals they continuously run. Jerco has been wanting a scaffolding domain name for quite some time, but never could find anything very affordable. Jerco has bought and sold scaffolding in the past and always wanted to get more involved in it. Jerco thinks ScaffoldingSupplier.com is a pretty good start.

Over the past years Jerco had a lot of interest in my domain name dog-names.com. It is such a nice keyword domain in a nice niche. Jerco has turned down quite a few offers, but recently had one Jerco could not refuse.

Reluctantly the deal was completed today, and Jerco hopes the new owner finds a good home for it. It will be another one of those domain names that Jerco will probably regret selling down the road.

Picked Up A Few New Domain Name Gems

Jerco was on hiatus for quite some time. It seems domain purchases come in spurts. There will be times that Jerco goes on a selling rampage, then goes dormant for a while, and then comes out buying again…

Jerco has made a few neat keyword acquisitions over the last 2 days. Jerco is looking to build up some more value to the website portfolio. A few of the latest are: ShootingBasketball.com, DecorateCupcakes.com, PaintedCabinet.com and the short combo Tyke & Tykes.info.

Jerco thinks they had very reasonable pricetags, and quality 1 & 2 word keyword domains almost always hold their value…
